As Iowa Farmers Are Being Hammered By Soaring Costs, Josh Turek for Iowa Announces New Slate of “Farmers for Turek”

The coalition of farmers across Iowa are backing Josh because of his commitment to fighting for Iowa’s rural communities

Des Moines, IA – This week, 15 additional farmers from all across Iowa endorsed Josh Turek for U.S. Senate, expanding the “Farmers for Turek” coalition, a group of Iowa farmers who are committed to sending Josh to the U.S. Senate because he is the fighter farmers and rural Iowans deserve.

Now more than ever, Iowa’s farmers need a true champion in the U.S. Senate as the Ashley Hinson-backed war in Iran continues to send diesel prices to record highs – up approximately 58% since last year. Hinson has repeatedly tried to downplay the war she has voted seven times to continue, claiming the conflict is “out of sight, out of mind” for Iowans and “[not the first thing [Iowans] bring up](https://x.com/atrupar/status/2096620875600589230/video/1?s=46).”

Meanwhile, Josh has been meeting with Iowa farmers across the state to hear directly from them just how top-of-mind the impact of the Iran war is, especially as peak harvest season approaches. Farmers across Iowa are supporting Josh because they know he’ll fight for common-sense policies that protect family farms including stopping the Hinson-backed tariffs, ending the war in Iran, and passing a comprehensive Farm Bill, and championing legislation to deliver year-round, nationwide E15, Right to Repair, and Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling.

“Farmers for Turek” is composed of farmers from across Iowa, including soybean and corn farmers, cattle ranchers, and others. The group is co-chaired by Seth Watkins, who runs a cow-calf operation with sheep and bees in Page County and Ellen Walsh-Rosmann, who raises corn, soybeans, small grains, cover crops, and livestock in Shelby County.
