Former Sen. Bob Casey Endorses Josh Turek for U.S. Senate
Casey says Turek is the best candidate to take back Tom Harkin’s seat
Des Moines, IA – Today, former Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) endorsed Josh Turek for the U.S. Senate. While serving in the U.S. Senate, Casey was the architect of the bipartisan ABLE Act, which allows people with disabilities to save for their futures without losing the benefits they rely on.
“Tom Harkin helped transform disability rights in America, and it was an honor to continue that work in the U.S. Senate after he retired. Now Iowa has the chance to send a new champion to Washington. Josh Turek understands the promise of the ADA because he has lived it, and he will be a strong voice for opportunity and dignity for people with disabilities. At a time when those protections are being challenged, the people of Iowa deserve a Senator who will stand up for them. I’m proud to support Josh,” said former Senator Bob Casey.
“Senator Casey helped enact real change for the disabled community, and I am grateful for both his leadership and for his endorsement. In his time in the Senate, he was a champion for the working class, fighting to raise wages and lower costs. I look forward to continuing the work of fighting for the most vulnerable, not just for billionaires and multinational corporations,” said **Josh Turek. **
