In the final week before the general election begins, Josh campaigned in some of the reddest areas of the state 

Des Moines, IA – In the final week before the general election begins in Iowa, Josh Turek barnstormed across Western Iowa, with events in rural red counties – exactly the places where Democrats need to win back voters.

Josh visited a farm in Page County where he launched Farmers for Turek, met with excited voters in Ringgold County, spoke to a packed room in Sioux City, and held a literal barn-buster in Westside.

KMA: ‘Farmers for Turek’ rally in rural Page County

• Flanked by area supporters, Turek announced the formation of a “Farmers for Turek” coalition at the Seth Watkins Farm south of Clarinda late Wednesday afternoon.
• Turek also attacked Congresswoman Ashley Hinson – who faces Jim Carlin in Tuesday’s Republican primary – for her support of Trump’s tariffs, as well as the current U.S.-Israeli war against Iran, which he says is increasing farmers’ fuel and fertilizer costs. Turek also dealt with farm-related issues, such as Congress’ failure to pass a new Farm Bill until earlier this year.
• “When I am in the Senate, Congress will not recess until we have an active Farm Bill,” said Turek. “No one gets to go home until our farmers are taken care of. I also want to make sure we do something to address the monopolies that are jacking up our input prices, and making sure we’ve got monopoly enforcement. Make sure we have country of origin labeling on our beef. We’ve lost a hundred thousand beef producers in this country.”
