ICYMI: Josh Turek is Putting The Miles In

From Iowa City to Waterloo to West Liberty to Burlington, Turek is meeting voters where they are

Des Moines, IA – Four-time Paralympian and U.S. Senate Candidate Josh Turek is coming off a big Eastern Iowa swing, putting in thousands of miles and hitting 8 campaign stops over the course of a few days. 

Josh met with the Students for Disability Advocacy at Iowa, a group of student leaders at the University of Iowa, to talk about his experience as the first permanently disabled member of the Iowa legislature and what it’s like to run for the U.S. Senate as a person with a disability. 

Josh then hit Mudd Studios in Cedar Falls and sat down with Iowa media legend Jeff Stein for a special edition of Iowa Talking Points: The Candidates – stay tuned for the full clip!

Supporters in Waterloo packed into Starbeck’s for some BBQ and Q&A with Josh, where he talked about the generational opportunity we have to flip this seat. 

Then it was off to Iowa City for a live interview and game of H-O-R-S-E with Iowa Starting Line’s Zach Oren Smith! In between shots, Josh fielded questions on topics ranging from the future of the Democratic Party, to ways to fix our broken health care system, to America’s role on the global stage. 

You can probably guess who won… 

Josh met with voters at the Buchanan County Dems Spring Dinner, where he talked about Iowa’s health care crisis and specifically the impact on rural communities. 

In West Liberty, Josh met with voters at the local library, highlighted the importance of the upcoming election, and even left folks feeling a sense of hope and optimism. 

Then Josh headed to Burlington, where he spoke to a packed room about his commitment to representing Iowans in every corner of the state. 

In Cedar Rapids, Josh knocked some doors and chatted with voters about the race and why he’s our best shot to flip this seat. 

Josh ended the swing with the Linn Phoenix Club, where he talked about the importance of public education, his plan to address the tariff chaos, and the path to getting Democrats elected up and down the ballot. 

With fewer than six weeks to go until the general election begins, Josh is putting in the work to connect with Iowans, hear their stories, and talk about the generational opportunity we have to elect a working class fighter to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.
