As he kicks off his GOTV tour, Josh Turek earned Pete’s endorsement and launched his latest statewide television ad
Des Moines, IA – Less than three weeks out from the IA-Sen primary, Josh Turek won the week. In a matter of days, Josh Turek launched a robust GOTV tour, secured the endorsement of Pete Buttigieg, and launched his latest statewide TV ad, “Seventy Three,” which highlights that there are 73 millionaires in the U.S. Senate, and Josh won’t be one of them.

First, Josh launched his statewide “Pushing for Change GOTV tour.”
- The Gazette: Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Josh Turek’s sprint to the finish line — that being Iowa’s June 2 primary election — will include a statewide get-out-the-vote tour, his campaign announced Tuesday. Turek will hold 23 events across Iowa between Tuesday and June 1, according to his campaign. The “Pushing for Change GOTV Tour” will include meet and greets, canvass launches, door-knocking and meeting with Iowa voters, his campaign said.
- The Des Moines Register: [The news] comes on the first day of early voting in Iowa and as Turek embarks on a 23-stop “Pushing for Change” get out the vote tour leading up to the June 2 primary.
Then, Josh earned the support of Pete Buttigieg.
- Iowa Capital Dispatch: Iowa Rep. Josh Turek gained another high-profile endorsement Wednesday as former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg backed his campaign to become the U.S. Senate Democratic nominee.
- Iowa News Now: “We made history in Iowa in 2020 because our campaign went everywhere,” Buttigieg said. “Josh Turek has taken that same proven approach to his campaign, and that’s why I know he will be successful.”
- Des Moines Register: Buttigieg is the latest big name to back Turek, following former U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, who represented Iowa in the Senate for 30 years.
To round out the week, Turek for Iowa released its latest statewide TV ad, “Seventy-Three.”

- Politico: Iowa Senate Democratic candidate Josh Turek is out with his latest ad, backed by a six-figure statewide buy, called “Seventy Three,” emphasizing that if elected, he wouldn’t be among the 73 millionaires in the Senate, Playbook’s Adam Wren scoops. “I was a kid wearing Goodwill hand-me-downs, with the wrong color lunch ticket,” Turek says. “A working-class kid in a blue-collar town.
