ICYMI: NEW POLL: Iowa’s U.S. Senate Race is a Dead Toss Up as Turek’s Momentum Continues to Grow

New general election poll shows Josh tied with Hinson following a surge of momentum after his primary win, worsening environment for Hinson

Des Moines, IA – According to new reporting by POLITICO, a recent poll shows Josh Turek starts the general election tied with Ashley Hinson in Iowa’s U.S. Senate race.

A key takeaway: Josh leads with the same Independent voters that will decide this race: “While Turek has a +7 net favorability among Independents, Hinson has a  -19 net favorability with them.”

What’s more: The environment is continuing to worsen for Hinson as Iowans “oppose the Iran war by 24 points and blame Trump and Republicans for higher gas prices by that same margin.”

Read the full memo.

“Iowans are ready to send Josh Turek to the U.S. Senate because they know he is the working class fighter they need to lower costs and put Iowa first. Iowans across the political spectrum are fed up with politicians like Ashley Hinson who are only in Washington to enrich themselves and their ultra-wealthy donors,” said Josh Turek for Iowa Campaign Manager Brendan Koch. “We know that Josh’s working class background and commitment to fighting for Iowans resonates with voters of every demographic, and we’ll continue to bring his message of common-sense prairie populism to voters across Iowa.”

Momentum has only compounded since Josh won the U.S. Senate primary less than one week ago. Immediately after Josh’s “dominant” primary victory, both Cook Political Report and Saboto’s Crystal Ball shifted the race towards Turek, citing his “history of winning in areas President Donald Trump carried” and “an increasingly favorable” environment. Just 48 hours later, the Josh Turek for Iowa campaign announced raising over $1 million thanks to a surge in grassroots support.

The bottom line: This race is a pure-tossup as the Josh Turek for Iowa campaign prepares to spend the next 148 days building a winning coalition to defeat Ashley Hinson.
