Josh Turek Calls Out Ashley Hinson for Failure to Fight for Affordable Health Care

Council Bluffs, Iowa — Today, four-time Paralympian and state representative Josh Turek released the following statement:

“At every opportunity, Ashley Hinson has refused to fight for Iowans’ health care. Already, she voted to kick 100,000 Iowans off Medicaid. She voted for 132,000 Iowans to have their health care premiums double or triple. She voted against caps for seniors’ insulin prices.

And now, even while other members of the Iowa delegation commit to doing the bare minimum to protect Iowans from skyrocketing health care costs, Hinson is silent. And we all know why: she’s in the pocket of Big Pharma, corrupt billionaires, and D.C. donors. She’ll side with those interests over Iowans every time.

We need to extend Affordable Care Act subsidies for at least a year. Iowans – including those in the rural communities – deserve access to affordable health care.”
