Josh Turek Hits Iowa Record with $1 Million Raised in Opening Quarter in the Race, Powered by Grassroots Momentum
In just seven weeks, Turek hit a record high for a first-time Democratic Senate candidate in Iowa
Turek has received donations from more than 27,000 individual donors, including from every county in Iowa
Council Bluffs, IA – Today, two-time Paralympic gold medalist and Iowa State Representative Josh Turek announced raising a record $1 million in his opening quarter in the race for U.S. Senate, in a major show of strength in the race in just seven weeks. Turek’s haul is a record for the most money raised by a first-time Democratic Senate candidate in their opening quarter in the race in Iowa history.
The momentum behind Turek’s campaign continues to grow:
- More than 98% of contributions were under $100
- Turek received donations from more than 27,000 individual donors
- Donations came from all of Iowa’s 99 counties, a sign of the campaign’s growing grassroots momentum across the state
- Turek has been endorsed by Iowa leaders including former Attorney General Tom Miller and 24 current and former state legislators
“This campaign isn’t powered by corporate PACs — it’s powered by teachers, nurses, farmers, and working families from every corner of Iowa who are ready for a leader who will fight for them,” said campaign manager Brendan Koch. “Josh is building a movement, and this milestone proves Iowans are ready for something different.”
