Josh Turek Launches Bipartisan “Educators for Turek” Coalition
Iowa educators across the state and across the political spectrum are backing Josh
Des Moines, IA – Today, Josh Turek continued his “Team Iowa Tour” with the launch of “Educators for Turek,” a bipartisan coalition of Iowa educators who are committed to sending Josh to the U.S. Senate because of his deep commitment to public education and the people who keep our public education system running.
“Josh has shown his commitment to Iowa’s public schools, our students, and our education professionals time and time again. He’s been a steadfast supporter of public education because he understands firsthand the impact public education can have on a student. I know in the U.S. Senate, Josh will continue to fight for Iowa’s educators,” said Joshua Brown, President of the Iowa State Education Association.
The group launched at the Iowa State Education Association’s annual meeting, where Josh spoke to a bipartisan crowd of hundreds of public education employees about his commitment to supporting public education as Iowa’s next U.S. Senator. ISEA, which represents over 50,000 Iowa educators across the political spectrum, endorsed Josh last month, alongside seven of Iowa’s largest labor unions.
“Iowa was once the envy of the nation for our public education, and the only reason I was able to overcome long odds was because I grew up in Iowa when we were prioritizing our public education. As a kid with a disability wearing Goodwill clothes, local AEAs and public schools opened the door of opportunity for me. In the U.S. Senate, I will continue to fight for every Iowa child to have access to a world-class education and for every educator to have the support they need to keep opening up doors of opportunity for the next generation,” said Josh Turek.
Teaching is the top profession for donations to Josh Turek for Iowa, with hundreds of Iowa teachers supporting Josh’s campaign.
