Josh Turek Rolls Out Second Statewide Television Ad, “Seventy Three”

“There are 73 millionaires in the U.S. Senate. I will not be one of them.”

Des Moines, IA – Today, Josh Turek for Iowa released its latest statewide television ad of the Iowa Senate Democratic primary: “Seventy Three.”

The new spot features Josh Turek talking about the need for working-class representation in the U.S. Senate. Meanwhile, in the time millionaire Ashley Hinson has been in Congress, her personal net worth has increased by ten times.

The campaign will run the ad statewide across all platforms including television, streaming, and digital to communicate with Iowans in every corner of the state.

“I know it’s families like mine who pay the price for Trump’s health care cuts, his tariffs, and his overseas wars,” said Josh in the ad. “In the Senate, I’ll take on Trump, and anyone else in Washington, to do what’s right for Iowa.”

Born with spina bifida as a result of his father’s exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam, Josh Turek underwent 21 surgeries before the age of 12, going on to represent the USA at four Paralympic games and ending his career with back-to-back gold medals. He grew up in a working class family in Council Bluffs, Iowa that went to the Goodwill for their clothes and relied on free summer lunch programs. Working class Iowans can trust Josh to fight for them, because he understands what they are going through.

Today’s ad launch builds on unmatched momentum for Josh in the Democratic Senate primary. He recently earned the endorsement of Iowa’s longtime Senator Tom Harkin and the winner of the 2020 Iowa caucuses, Pete Buttigieg. Latest polling shows Josh over 50% in this primary, leading his opponent 53-27. Last month, Turek for Iowa launched its first television ad, “Push”, which features Josh outlining how Iowans feel like they’re pushing uphill right now due to poor policy decisions coming out of Washington — and he knows exactly what that feels like.

[JOSH] There are 73 millionaires in the U.S. Senate. I will not be one of them.

I was a kid wearing Goodwill hand-me-downs, with the wrong color lunch ticket. A working class kid in a blue-collar town.

I know that it’s families like mine who pay the price for Trump’s health care cuts, his tariffs, and his overseas wars.

I’m Josh Turek, and I approve this message. In the Senate, I’ll take on Trump, and anyone else in Washington, to do what’s right for Iowa.
