Josh Turek Slams Ashley Hinson For Breaking Her Promise To Iowans, Failing to Secure Year-Round E15, and Delaying the Farm Bill
Des Moines, IA – Today, Ashley Hinson once again broke her promise to Iowans as she failed, by her own account, to secure year-round E15 and move the Farm Bill forward, further delaying passage of a bill that is already three years overdue.
“By her own metrics, Ashley Hinson is consistently failing Iowa farmers. She failed to get year-round E15 done and she failed to get the overdue Farm Bill across the finish line, all in one day. Why should Iowans reward a failing Representative with a promotion to the U.S. Senate?” said Josh Turek.
Every year this month, Ashley Hinson has promised Iowans she’d deliver on securing year-round E15. Every month, she has failed.
- January: “Anything short of delivering year-round E15 is a failure by Washington to stand up for Iowa farmers and biofuels producers after years of broken promises and platitudes.”
- February: Hinson called the failure to deliver E15 “unacceptable.”
- March: “I think we are pretty close to an agreement.” (Spoiler: They weren’t.)
- April: “I’ll keep pushing hard to expand the use of Iowa’s homegrown biofuels & for year round E15.”
Iowa farmers are still waiting on a Farm Bill. In the U.S. Senate, Josh will fight to introduce legislation that bans Congress from going on recess without an active Farm Bill.
