NEW: Josh Turek for Iowa Releases New Ad, “Border”
The spot features Josh talking with Border Patrol agents at the U.S.-Mexico border about his commitment to working with anyone to address our broken immigration system
Des Moines, IA – Today, Josh Turek for Iowa released its latest ad, “Border,” which features Josh speaking directly to Iowans about his commitment to securing the border and keeping Iowans safe. The spot features Josh meeting with Border Patrol agents to discuss how both parties have failed to address the broken immigration system.
“I came to the border to meet firsthand with the people who work to keep it secure. What happens down here affects us up in Iowa, so we’ve got to address it,” says Josh in the ad. “In the Senate, I’ll work with anyone to make sure these folks have the tools they need to keep the border secure, stop human trafficking and the flow of illegal drugs into Iowa.”

When the Biden administration and Congress failed to address immigration, Josh broke with his party and worked with Iowa Republicans to pass legislation that allowed Iowa law enforcement to deport individuals who came here illegally. Josh has consistently worked across the aisle on immigration, passing legislation to crack down on fentanyl in Iowa and keep dangerous criminals off the streets.
Meanwhile, Ashley Hinson refused to address the issue when she had the chance, opposing the bipartisan border deal that was endorsed by Border Patrol agents and called the “most restrictive,” “toughest,” “most stringent,” and “most conservative” border bill in recent history.
The Josh Turek for Iowa campaign has been blanketing screens across Iowa for months. The campaign started the general election running “USA,” a spot that features Josh speaking directly to Iowans about his lifelong commitment to putting country over party, followed by “Prove It,” which highlights the more than 700 times Josh voted with Iowa Republicans and “I-35,” which spotlights Josh’s commitment to working with anyone – including President Trump – to fix our broken immigration system, “Went Through Hell” and “Underdog,” which highlight Josh’s persistent fight in the face of adversity, and “Getting Hammered,” which features Craig, an Iowa farmer, talking to Josh about the impact of record-high diesel prices as we enter peak harvest season.
The campaign has also been spotlighting Ashley Hinson’s longstanding record of hurting Iowans to enrich herself and her donors with “C’mon” and “Change.”

[JOSH TUREK]: I’m Josh Turek. I’m in Laredo, Texas at the U.S.-Mexico border. I came to the border to meet firsthand with the people who work to keep it secure. What happens down here affects us up in Iowa, so we’ve got to address it.
I voted with Republicans to allow law enforcement to arrest and deport criminals. In the Senate, I’ll work with anyone to make sure these folks have the tools they need to keep the border secure, stop human trafficking and the flow of illegal drugs into Iowa.
I approve this message. I will never stop fighting to keep Iowans safe.
