NEW: Josh Turek for Iowa Releases New Ad, “Getting Hammered,” Highlighting Impact of Record Diesel Prices on Iowa Families and Farmers

The spot features Josh and Craig, an Iowa farmer, discussing the impact of today’s sky-high diesel prices – a direct result of the Hinson-backed Iran war – on his bottom line

Des Moines, IA – Today, Josh Turek for Iowa released its newest ad, “Getting Hammered,” which features Craig, an Iowa farmer, talking to Josh about the impact of record-high diesel prices as we enter peak harvest season. Fuel prices are skyrocketing in Iowa as a direct result of the war in Iran that Ashley Hinson has voted seven times to continue.

“I’m getting absolutely hammered. Fuel prices are the highest I’ve ever seen ‘em,” says Iowa farmer Craig in the ad.

Multi-millionaire Ashley Hinson said that the war is “out of sight, out of mind,” but for Iowans like Craig, it’s anything but. While Iowa families have spent an average of $860 more in gas alone since the war began and farmers are spending tens of thousands more to harvest their fields this year, Ashley Hinson has gotten as much as $8 million richer since getting to Washington.

“Gas and diesel prices have risen more here than almost any other state in the country. We are all paying the price,” says Josh in the ad. “Ashley Hinson has voted over and over for policies that have jacked up prices, while she gets richer and richer.”

As Ashley Hinson was voting for a seventh time to continue the war in Iran, Josh released his multi-prong plan to lower fuel prices and bring much needed relief to Iowans last week. Hinson has repeatedly voted to continue the war that is hammering Iowans while taking more than $200,000 from the same Big Oil donors that have recorded massive profits since the war first began. Since she got to Congress, Hinson has gotten up to 15x richer, increasing her net worth by as much as $8,000,000.

The Josh Turek for Iowa campaign has been blanketing screens across Iowa, communicating with voters in every corner of the state. The campaign started the general election running “USA,” a spot that features Josh speaking directly to Iowans about his lifelong commitment to putting country over party, followed by “Prove It,” which highlights the more than 700 times Josh voted with Iowa Republicans and “I-35,” which spotlights Josh’s commitment to working with anyone – including President Trump – to fix our broken immigration system.

More recently, the campaign released “Went Through Hell” and “Underdog,” which highlight Josh’s persistent fight in the face of adversity, and “C’Mon,” which uses Ashley Hinson’s own words to spotlight her longstanding record of corrupt self dealing in D.C.

Read the transcript for “Getting Hammered” here:

[JOSH TUREK]: This is my friend, Craig. Craig uses this rig to move corn and beans. Craig, what’s diesel run you these days?

[CRAIG]: I’m getting absolutely hammered. Fuel prices are the highest I’ve ever seen ‘em.

[JOSH TUREK]: Gas and diesel prices have risen more here than almost any other state in the country. We are all paying the price. Ashley Hinson has voted over and over for policies that have jacked up prices, while she gets richer and richer.

I’m Josh Turek and I approve this message. Unlike Ashley, Craig and I aren’t millionaires. I’ll work to lower prices because that matters to him, and to me too.
