NEW: Josh Turek for Iowa Releases New Ad, “Richer,” Featuring Registered Republican and Hinson Constituent Who is Voting for Josh Turek

The spot features Rich, a registered Iowa Republican who is sick and tired of Ashley Hinson getting rich while voting to raise Iowans’ prices 

Des Moines, IA – Today, Josh Turek for Iowa released its newest ad, “Richer” which features Rich, a registered Iowa Republican and Ashley Hinson constituent, speaking  about why he will be crossing the aisle to support Josh this year.

“I’m on Social Security, and I still have to work two days a week,” says Rich in the ad. “Maybe Ashley Hinson doesn’t have to worry about gas prices, but I sure as hell want a Senator who does.”

Ashley Hinson is a millionaire who has repeatedly voted to raise prices on Iowans to enrich herself and her donors, even “[champion[ing]](https://iowastartingline.com/news/ashley-hinson-fought-for-a-tax-break-that-benefits-her-own-fortune/)” a tax break that “benefits her own fortune.” Hinson has increased her net worth by up to 15x since she was elected to Congress, getting as much as $8 million richer and raking in up to $1 million in earnings from private insurance stock she told Iowans she sold.

While Ashley Hinson got rich, she voted seven times to continue the war that has driven up gas prices for everyday Iowans and five times for the tariffs that have made everything more expensive.

Unlike Hinson, Josh understands the struggle so many Iowans are feeling right now because he’s lived it. He grew up in a working class family that went to the Goodwill for clothes and relied on free summer lunch programs. That’s why he is laser-focused on ending the corruption crisis that’s leading to an affordability crisis – and he’ll work with anyone to get it done. Josh voted with Republicans more than 700 times in the Iowa legislature to cut taxes, lower costs, and more.

The Josh Turek for Iowa campaign has been blanketing screens across Iowa for months. The campaign started the general election running “USA,” a spot that features Josh speaking directly to Iowans about his lifelong commitment to putting country over party, followed by “Prove It,” which highlights the more than 700 times Josh voted with Iowa Republicans. “I-35,” “Border,” and “Safe” all spotlight Josh’s commitment to working with anyone – including President Trump – to fix our broken immigration system and keep Iowans safe.

The campaign also released “Went Through Hell,” “Underdog,” and “Goodwill” which highlight Josh’s persistent fight in the face of adversity and his working-class upbringing; “C’mon,” and “Change” which spotlight Ashley Hinson’s longstanding record of corrupt self-dealing in D.C.; and “Getting Hammered,” which features Josh’s conversation with an Iowa farmer about the impact of record-high diesel prices as we hit peak harvest season.
