NEW: Josh Turek Over 50%, Leads by 26 Points in Iowa Democratic Primary

Turek’s dominant lead has grown 12 points in 12 days as he leads his opponent by 2:1 margin

Des Moines, IA – Just hours after Josh Turek won the first televised debate of the Democratic U.S. Senate primary, the Turek for Iowa campaign released a new poll showing Turek leading his primary opponent by 26 points.

The key takeaway: Josh has crossed the 50 percent threshold, leading his opponent by a 2:1 margin thanks to support that has grown by 12 points in just as many days.

Read the full memo here.

Of note: Turek’s lead is not the result of a simple name-ID advantage. Even among voters who have a “very favorable” opinion of both candidates, Turek leads 40-15.

“Today’s poll makes clear that the momentum behind Josh Turek is unstoppable,” said Turek for Iowa campaign manager Brendan Koch. “Iowans are ready to send a gold medalist with a proven record of delivering for working families and taking on big corporations to the U.S. Senate. With a campaign built to win, Josh will win this primary in 27 days and enter the general election ready to take on Ashley Hinson — and win.”

Momentum has only compounded in recent weeks. Earlier this week, Josh won the Iowa PBS debate and made clear that he is the best candidate to take on Hinson. Polls show the same: Turek leads Hinson in a recent independent general election poll while his opponent trails.

The latest fundraising reports showed that Josh outraised his primary opponent thanks to unmatched grassroots support that only continues to grow.
