Des Moines, IA – Today, former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg endorsed Josh Turek for U.S. Senate. Buttigieg was the winner of the 2020 Iowa caucuses, an historic feat that was fueled by his ability to connect with both urban and rural voters all across the state.

“We made history in Iowa in 2020 because our campaign went everywhere. We connected with people in rural towns and the largest cities, focused on the issues that affect everyday life, and brought Democrats, Independents, and even Republicans into the fold,” said Pete Buttigieg. “Josh Turek has taken that same proven approach to his campaign, and that’s why I know he will be successful. I believe Iowa can make history again in 2026 by sending Josh to the U.S. Senate.”

Similar to Pete’s “go everywhere” approach, Turek for Iowa just announced a 23-stop “Pushing for Change GOTV Tour.” From now until June 2nd, Josh will be crisscrossing Iowa and speaking directly with voters about how his story, his fight, and his prairie populist agenda will make life better for hardworking Iowa families.

Today’s endorsement builds on continued momentum for Josh’s campaign. Last week, he earned the endorsement of Iowa’s longtime Senator Tom Harkin and won the Iowa PBS Democratic primary debate. What’s more: a new poll released last week showed Josh over 50% in this primary, leading his opponent 53-27.
