Iowans across the political spectrum are backing Josh over corrupt, self-dealing Ashley Hinson

Josh: “I want to be a senator for all Iowans, regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum, Republicans, Independents, Democrats.”

Des Moines, IA – Today, U.S. Senate Candidate Josh Turek hosted a press conference with Republican supporters to launch “Republicans for Turek,” a coalition of current and former Iowa Republicans who are committed to mobilizing their communities to elect Josh.

Over the course of his legislative career, Josh has developed a track record of reaching across the aisle to get things done for all Iowans. One of Iowa’s most effective and bipartisan members, Josh has voted with Republicans more than 700 times to cut taxes, lower costs, and keep Iowans safe. As someone who represents the reddest seat won by a Democrat in 2024, Josh is intent on being a U.S. Senator for all Iowans.

Meanwhile, his opponent Ashley Hinson is the least bipartisan member of the Iowa Congressional delegation. Instead of fighting for Iowans, Hinson has “fought for a tax break that benefits her own fortune,” “lied about owning stock,” used campaign funds on “lavish vacations to some of the most exclusive luxury resorts in the U.S.,” and increased her wealth by up to ten times while in office all while her husband, who holds a “government affairs post at a leading insurance industry lobbying group,” helped his lobbying group “gain access to Hinson and other Iowa lawmakers.”

“It’s my pleasure to be here today to stand with my friend, Josh Turek, who served noblely in the Iowa House for two terms and really was an asset to the city of Council Bluffs in that role. Josh always kept his word and is faithful to his community. I know he’ll do the same thing representing the state of Iowa,” said Matt Walsh, former Mayor of Council Bluffs and longtime Republican.

“I can’t say how excited I am that somebody familiar with the [health care] system, familiar with this lifestyle, these levels of needs, and familiar with the people in our community is really giving an honest attempt at bringing change. I have heard said many times that the greatest form of leadership is to empower and protect people, and I really see that in Josh,” said Missy Murphy, the caretaker for a disabled Iowan and longtime Republican who re-registered as a Democrat to vote for Josh in this year’s primary.

“To win my first election, I dragged my wheelchair upstairs to have conversations with people. And I talked about how the system is broken, about how costs are too high, about how it’s this cost of corruption that is affecting and hollowing out the middle class. I saw that Iowans across the political spectrum, what they want more than anything, what Iowans want more than Republican versus Democrats is they want someone that is going to work hard in a bipartisan manner to provide solutions to people’s problems,” said Josh Turek. “I want to be a senator for all Iowans, regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum. Republicans, Independents, Democrats.”

From now until Election Day, Josh will continue his “go everywhere” approach to meet Iowans from across the political spectrum, taking the time to listen to folks from all backgrounds about how corrupt politicians like Ashley Hinson have failed them and their communities.
