Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto and Sen. Maggie Hassan Endorse Josh Turek for U.S. Senate

Both highlight Josh’s experience winning tough elections and his ability to beat Ashley Hinson in November

Des Moines, IA – Today, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) endorsed state representative and four time Paralympian Josh Turek for U.S. Senate.

Like Turek, both senators won tough races with slim margins by building a broad coalition and truly representing the communities they serve. In 2016, Sen. Hassan unseated an incumbent by 1,017 votes. Sen. Cortez Masto held her seat in 2022 by fewer than 8,000 votes.

“Josh Turek knows how to win. He currently represents a Trump +9 district and his campaign for Senate gives Democrats a real chance at flipping the chamber. Josh is a fighter for working Iowans who will get to work on day one to lower costs and help families get ahead. I look forward to calling him my colleague when he becomes the 51st Democratic Senator,” said Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto.

“Josh Turek is a champion. He brought home gold medals from the Paralympic Games. He’s won tough races, outperforming President Trump by double digits. And in office, he’s championed Iowa’s hardworking families and fought against cuts to health care,” said Sen. Maggie Hassan. “I am proud to endorse Josh Turek for the United States Senate, because I know that Josh will always put the people of Iowa first.”

“I’m honored to have the support of these leaders who not only know what it takes to win tough elections, but know how to enact real change for working class people. Flipping this senate seat won’t be easy, but I’m attacking this challenge with the same determination it took to win a state house seat Donald Trump won by double digits, and I know the people of Iowa are ready to have a fighter in Washington,” said Josh Turek.

Turek’s growing list of endorsers includes Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and more than 60 Iowa leaders from labor, health care, reproductive freedom, and agriculture.
