Josh Turek Slams Ashley Hinson for Saying Iowans Aren’t Concerned About the War in Iran
Hinson went on Fox News Sunday A.M. to downplay the war, double down on her support
Des Moines, IA – In response to Ashley Hinson downplaying the Iran war and doubling down on her support for the conflict, saying it is “certainly not the first thing [Iowans] bring up,” Josh Turek released the following statement:
“Ashley Hinson voted six times to continue this reckless war in Iran that Iowa has uniquely paid the cost of — and Iowans won’t soon forget. Maybe if she had held a single in-person town hall in the year since she launched her U.S. Senate campaign, she’d understand just how much Iowans are struggling under the weight of skyrocketing gas, diesel, and fertilizer costs, all a direct result of this war. In the U.S. Senate, I’ll put an end to these forever wars that raise costs on working class Iowans.”
The facts: Despite saying she doesn’t want another forever war, Ashley Hinson has voted six times to continue the Iran war, even after privately admitting it was a “political liability.” Last month, Hinson refused to answer repeated reporters’ questions about when the war will end.
Since the war against Iran began in February, the average Iowa household has paid an extra $516 in gasoline. Diesel just hit record highs this week, further straining the Iowa farmers already struggling because of the Hinson-backed tariffs. Just today, Josh Turek for Iowa released its newest ad, “Went Through Hell,” featuring Josh’s dad, a Vietnam Veteran, talking about the generational consequences of these forever wars.
