U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth Endorses Josh Turek for U.S. Senate
Duckworth calls Turek “a fighter”
Des Moines, IA – Today, Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) endorsed Josh Turek for the U.S. Senate. Sen. Duckworth is an Iraq War Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs who was among the first handful of Army women to fly combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
“Washington needs more fighters to push back against Trump, and Josh Turek is exactly the right person for this job. He worked through economic and health care hardship to win both gold medals and tough elections. I know Josh will be a strong voice against Donald Trump’s reckless agenda that’s hurting middle-class Iowans, from attacks on their reproductive freedom, to cuts to the VA, to reckless wars that put U.S. troops in harm’s way,” said Sen. Tammy Duckworth. “I’m proud to support Josh and look forward to having another advocate for disabled Americans in the U.S. Senate.”
“Sen. Duckworth has been a champion for accessibility, reproductive freedom, clean water, and affordable health care – all issues I care deeply about. She knows what it takes to overcome long odds and fight for what you believe in. I am honored to have her endorsement and will be proud to work alongside her in the Senate,” said Josh Turek.
Sen. Duckworth joins more than 70 elected officials, community leaders, and advocates rallying behind Josh Turek, the only candidate who can take on Republican Ashley Hinson in November.
